Mining Fueling Solution in Yanacocha Mine, Peru
Yanacocha is a gold mine in northern Peru. It is considered to be the fourth largest gold mine in the world, producing over US$7 billion worth of gold to date. Run by the Newmont Mining Corporation, the world’s second largest gold mining firm, and by Buenaventura, a Peruvian company, the 251 km² open pit mine is situated about 30 kilometers north of Cajamarca at an altitude of 4 700 m, in high pampa, straddling the watershed.
